Fresh Encounters with Kindred Souls – Betina Maureenji
The Kindred Souls album, released on 18/06/21, features intuitive musical encounters between 20 international musicians and Adrian, recorded on his travels around the world.
This series of magical encounters continues in an open ended flow, as Adrian continues to weave his musical way with fresh kindred souls, as the world turns.
Below you can enjoy this work with the great singer and musician Betina Maureenji:
My Queen – words and music Bettina Maureenji
Bettina Maureenji – voice and sitar
Adrian Freedman – shakuhachi
Recorded at Sachamama, a beautiful healing sanctuary outside of Byron Bay, Australia.
Sachamama is the Goddess of the Forest in ancient Peruvian Incan culture
This recording captures a beautiful moment in the early morning light, sitting by a lotus pond, surrounded by mountain forests.
This was the first time for Adrian and Maureenji to play music together, despite having known each other as friends for many years.
Recorded in February 2018 Adrian plays a 2.0 shakuhachi made by John Kaizan Neptune
